About the role
- Senior Tax Consultant managing tax planning and legal advisory with a focus on client relations. Requires 7-10 years of experience and expertise in taxation and law.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute tax planning engagements;
- Handle strategic cases;
- Identify and secure new engagements within the existing client base;
- Source and generate commercial/business opportunities;
- Consolidate research of case law, legislation and doctrine to deliver practical solutions to clients' problems;
- Timely comply with the firm's internal and administrative procedures;
- Draft high-complexity legal opinions and advisory memoranda;
- Provide guidance to junior and mid-level lawyers on reviews of tax reporting obligations;
- Guide junior and mid-level lawyers in tax reviews;
- Provide legal guidance to junior and mid-level lawyers on identification of administrative and judicial tax credits;
- Actively participate in internal groups and committees;
- Propose agendas and topics for team discussions and knowledge updates;
- Prospect and develop new clients;
- Review team deliverables;
- Conduct technical studies and related internal presentations;
- Perform high-complexity doctrinal, case law and legislative research and/or review and coordinate research with the team;
- Review research conducted by junior and mid-level lawyers;
- Review legal opinions prepared by junior and mid-level lawyers;
- Supervise the team.
Requirements
- Education: Law degree required; postgraduate specialization in Tax Law preferred. Courses in Accounting and in specific topics (transfer pricing, double taxation conventions, and outbound remittances) are desirable; a master's degree is a plus.
- Experience: 7–10 years post-qualification experience.
- Languages: advanced English desirable.
