About the role
- Category & Sourcing Manager overseeing the growth of Austrian pharmacy product assortment. Responsible for supplier relationships, performance monitoring, and strategic procurement.
Responsibilities
- As Category & Sourcing Manager Austria, you are responsible for growing the assortment of our Austrian products and optimizing their margins.
- You manage and further develop relationships with our suppliers.
- You serve as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and drive the performance of Austrian products in a KPI-oriented manner.
- You are responsible for the entire supplier relationship and perform active key account management.
- You handle onboarding of new suppliers, acquire innovative partners, and ensure a diversified supplier base.
- Continuously optimize profit-driven activities, purchasing conditions, and promotional allowances (Werbekostenzuschüsse, WKZ).
- You monitor delivery performance and ensure optimal product availability.
Requirements
- A degree in business administration/marketing/economics, a commercial apprenticeship, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years of practical experience in procurement or category management.
- Demonstrated experience in supplier management and negotiating terms and conditions, ideally in the Austrian market.
- Ongoing monitoring of the Austrian product assortment with regard to availability and sales performance.
- Confident presence, ability to work independently, and solution-oriented communication skills.
- Proficient with digital tools such as Excel, ERP systems (e.g., SAP/Business Central), and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Ideally, knowledge of the pharmaceutical market and the pharmaceutical industry.
- Very good German and strong English skills, both written and spoken.
