About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll design and operate software solutions for manufacturing processes at GROPYUS. You will play a key role in merging digital and physical logistics systems.

Responsibilities

Designing, building, testing and operating software solutions for logistics and manufacturing use cases incl. Robots, AGVs and other (semi) automated manufacturing equipment.
Working in a hybrid infrastructure environment (cloud and on-prem), managing complex software deployments at scale.
Bringing a software operations mindset to monitor, maintain, and improve software uptime including reliable updates, latency, and efficiency.
Applying and building upon your experience in PLC or robot programming to help the team move the existing solutions to a full and flexible Software Defined Manufacturing process.
Acting as a bridge between digital product delivery & physical logistics and manufacturing systems, ensuring both are aligned and integrated.
Helping define, monitor and evolve SLAs/SLOs as well as other important KPIs like e.g. OEE for critical systems.

You are an experienced software engineer– preferably with a background in manufacturing or logistics systems, PLC or robot programming or software system operations in a smart factory.
Practical experience in some / all key areas of modern software development, including infrastructure, observability, testing, deployment pipelines incl. quality assurance, and scaling.
Operated and supported large-scale software systems in cloud and non-cloud environments (on-premise) or PLC and robot systems in a manufacturing or logistics facility.
Worked in companies with strong operational cultures, ideally in logistics or manufacturing – understanding the commercial impact of system downtime.
Proficient with most of the following technologies: Kotlin / SpringBoot, Kubernetes, Linux, PostgreSQL, Python / Bash is a plus, OPC-UA / PLC (e.g. TIA) / robot programming (e.g. KRL).
Cloud Operations experience.
Experience with Azure is a bonus.
Familiar with monitoring and alerting practices for production systems.
Experience defining and working with SLAs/SLOs.
Willing to travel to our manufacturing site in Richen whenever needed and within Germany and Austria for in-person team events.
