About the role

Responsibilities
- Manage disciplinary and criminal cases as well as civil appeals through hearings and final court decisions, including superior courts, and draft appellate briefs;
- Provide legal advice on disciplinary, criminal, or other matters as required by the Organization, in collaboration with the Legal Affairs Department;
- Act as the Organization’s exclusive representative before disciplinary, administrative, and judicial bodies;
- Serve, as needed, as a resource person on various committees or working groups of the Organization;
- Provide training, notably to managers as well as to HR and legal teams.
Requirements
- Law degree and member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec (Quebec Bar);
- Knowledge of disciplinary law and experience as a litigation lawyer in this area (an asset);
- Knowledge of criminal law and administrative law and experience as a litigation lawyer in these areas (an asset);
- Familiarity with the Real Estate Brokerage Act and its regulations (an asset);
- Familiarity with access to information and privacy legislation (an asset);
- Excellent spoken and written French;
- Good spoken and written English;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to work with various software applications.
