About the role
- Software Developer developing rating and underwriting rules for insurance clients at Cognition+. Collaborating with clients to enhance rating processes and insurance automation through innovative digital solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new and existing rating and underwriting rules for insurance clients.
- Resolve client rating and underwriting issues.
- Meet with clients to analyze and gather requirements and identify solutions that enhance rating processes and insurance automation.
- Conduct analysis and testing.
- Work with senior team members to design solutions, including development of specifications to ensure quality.
- Create and maintain key documentation.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A degree or diploma in Computer Programming, or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Proven customer service experience.
- Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on client success.
- Nice to Have: Experience working in the property & casualty insurance industry.
- Nice to Have: Experience with SQL and Java.
- Nice to Have: Familiarity with Alfresco Content Services (ACS).
- Nice to Have: Comfortable with writing unit and integration tests.
- Nice to Have: Understanding of the Ontario Mutual Automobile Plan (OMAP) and the Centralized Auto Rating (CAR) rating engine.
