About the role

• Senior Civil Engineer managing civil and transport infrastructure projects for GHD. Leading project delivery from concept to construction in Queensland's regional environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design and documentation on a variety of civil and transport infrastructure projects in both the public and private sectors.
• Provide leadership, guidance and assistance in the delivery of projects from concept stage through to construction.
• Establish and maintain client relationships, identify new project opportunities and win work.
• Project manage and be technically responsible for large, high-quality planning and design projects ($2M+ design fee), including multi-disciplinary coordination.
• Develop local junior engineers and design personnel.
• Ground truth designs throughout regional Queensland’s extensive remote road network.
• Provide technical expertise to clients and support projects through other offices as required.
• Contribute to the development of GHD's knowledge and skills in civil and transport engineering including planning, design, and construction.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)
• Experience in establishing client relationships and winning work
• Excellent project management skills and ability and willingness to mentor junior engineers.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) & Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) (Preferred)
• A passion for high-quality design documentation, assessment and analysis of technical data and imparting knowledge, skills, and experience through the provision of professional development in others.
• Knowledge of flood modelling, geotechnical analysis, pavement design and an ability to integrate into civil and transport design preferred.
• Strong communication skills both oral and written (including report writing).
• Demonstrated professional judgement and commercial acumen, including identifying, assessing, evaluating, and solving problems to brief and budget.
• The capability to produce concise and accurate reports, technical specifications, design calculations, drafting briefs and mark-ups.
• Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design and the delivery of projects, from small projects to medium sized projects.
• Experience and a sound understanding of current civil engineering technologies, including design, modelling, and construction.
