About the role

  • Senior Engineer in Mechanical Systems designing for nuclear energy applications on BWRX-300 project. Responsibilities include system design, certification support, and product management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preliminary and detailed design of mechanical systems on the BWRX-300 including the steam turbine, turbine auxiliaries, main condenser, condensate, and feedwater systems
  • Perform mechanical systems design and/or equipment procurement and construction activities, including requirements definition, process calculations and analysis, P&ID preparation, model review, vendor and client coordination, review and approval of vendor document submittals, and verification of deliverables produced by other engineers and teams
  • Support the BWRX-300 certification processes for GE Products to address all US NRC (or other nuclear regulator) design certification requirements
  • Conduct component and product integration
  • Manage product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down
  • Drive validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level operability and testing

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in an engineering role, with work in mechanical or process system design
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in nuclear plant modifications, new construction, and/or nuclear fabrication, preferably with BWRs
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical system design activities including development of process flow diagrams, thermodynamic and heat/fluid flow transfer calculations, engineering specifications, etc.
  • Eligibility Requirements: access to U.S. export-controlled information
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada is required for this position
