Senior Engineer in Mechanical Systems designing for nuclear energy applications on BWRX-300 project. Responsibilities include system design, certification support, and product management.
Responsibilities
Perform preliminary and detailed design of mechanical systems on the BWRX-300 including the steam turbine, turbine auxiliaries, main condenser, condensate, and feedwater systems
Perform mechanical systems design and/or equipment procurement and construction activities, including requirements definition, process calculations and analysis, P&ID preparation, model review, vendor and client coordination, review and approval of vendor document submittals, and verification of deliverables produced by other engineers and teams
Support the BWRX-300 certification processes for GE Products to address all US NRC (or other nuclear regulator) design certification requirements
Conduct component and product integration
Manage product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down
Drive validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level operability and testing
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering
Minimum 8 years of experience in an engineering role, with work in mechanical or process system design
Minimum 2 years of experience in nuclear plant modifications, new construction, and/or nuclear fabrication, preferably with BWRs
Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical system design activities including development of process flow diagrams, thermodynamic and heat/fluid flow transfer calculations, engineering specifications, etc.
