About the role

• Lead Design Engineer responsible for mechanical design activities of engine components at GE Aerospace. Collaborating with global teams and ensuring adherence to engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead Design Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical design activities of various module and components for the next-generation engine programs and relevant technology demonstrators
• Execute the design of parts in technology demonstrator programs leading/performing component/assembly level design assessments for engine hardware in accordance with the required best practices
• Work closely/efficiently with global teams performing module and component level design adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product/program requirements
• Contribute and adhere to daily management routine, standard work activities and work aligned with KPIs
• Working closely with technical leadership, develop a project plan establishing work packages, milestones, objectives in accordance with program schedule
• Document lessons learned and ensure continuous improvement

Requirements

• BSc and/or MSc in Mechanical or Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited college or university
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical component design engineering
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated skills, familiarity or ability to learn CAD modelling and simulation tools
• Strong cross-functional teaming, coordination and communication skills
• Highly motivated, self-starter who is passionate about inventing the next generation of aviation technology
• Demonstrated accountability, ownership skills and diligence in meeting commitments within tight and fluctuation schedules
• Ability to guide and influence others
