Lead Design Engineer responsible for mechanical design activities of engine components at GE Aerospace. Collaborating with global teams and ensuring adherence to engineering best practices.
Responsibilities
Lead Design Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical design activities of various module and components for the next-generation engine programs and relevant technology demonstrators
Execute the design of parts in technology demonstrator programs leading/performing component/assembly level design assessments for engine hardware in accordance with the required best practices
Work closely/efficiently with global teams performing module and component level design adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product/program requirements
Contribute and adhere to daily management routine, standard work activities and work aligned with KPIs
Working closely with technical leadership, develop a project plan establishing work packages, milestones, objectives in accordance with program schedule
Document lessons learned and ensure continuous improvement
Requirements
BSc and/or MSc in Mechanical or Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited college or university
At least 5 years of experience in mechanical component design engineering
Excellent command of written and spoken English
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrated skills, familiarity or ability to learn CAD modelling and simulation tools
Strong cross-functional teaming, coordination and communication skills
Highly motivated, self-starter who is passionate about inventing the next generation of aviation technology
Demonstrated accountability, ownership skills and diligence in meeting commitments within tight and fluctuation schedules
Ability to guide and influence others
