Lead Finance Analyst managing financial planning and project accounting responsibilities for GE Vernova. Collaborating with commercial and project operations teams to support financial outcomes and decision-making.
Responsibilities
own financial planning, project accounting, and decision support across the ITO (Inquiry-to-Order) and OTR (Order-to-Remittance) lifecycle
drive accurate orders/sales/cash forecasts
ensure compliant revenue recognition, manage cost and margin outcomes
support pricing, risk management, and approvals for upgrade and retrofit scopes
build and review cost models, pricing waterfalls, margin analyses, and scenario sensitivities
support risk/opportunity registers, commercial approvals, and contract terms impacting financials
provide finance input to proposals, bid approvals, and negotiations; challenge assumptions and drive clarity on contingencies and change-order strategies
drive change order financials, claims, and dispute resolutions; support cash collections and past-due reduction
execute month-end close activities: accruals, deferrals, JE reviews, variance analyses, reconciliations
set up project financials aligned with contractual performance obligations and operations outcomes
ensure proper revenue recognition and billing aligned with policy & milestones
track actuals, estimates, pacing, and budgets for CM&U, including analytics, reporting, and margin walks vs. baseline expectations
ensure adherence to accounting policies, SOX controls, and documentation standards
partner with Tax, Treasury, and Controllership on FX, VAT/GST, statutory needs, and audits
drive process simplification, standard work, and digital tool adoption
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, and or Economics
4+ years of progressive finance experience in project-based, manufacturing, or services environments
Strong financial modeling, variance analysis, and forecasting skills
Proficiency with ERP and reporting tools (e.g., SAP/Oracle; Tableau/Power BI; Excel)
Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally and influence without direct authority
Clear, concise communication skills (written and verbal); executive-ready presentations
MBA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification is a plus
CM&U/Upgrades/Retrofits or industrial services experience (energy, power generation, grid, renewables)
Familiarity with ITO/OTR processes, commercial deal structuring, and contract risk management
Lean/continuous improvement mindset; comfort with ambiguity and changing priorities
High bias for action, ownership, and detail orientation with the ability to see the big picture
