  • Support USSOCOM at Fort Liberty, NC.
  • Responsible for distributed and managed services, automating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services.
  • Manage system tuning for reliability and efficiency and guide and manage software releases for new features and support users through consolidation.
  • Occasionally performs the administrative operation of server hardware and software.
  • Ensures system security and executes practices and procedures.
  • Troubleshoots system related problems.
  • Remains current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applications.
  • Recommends future direction or projects to management.
  • Provides expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system.

Requirements

  • 5 years of IT and/or software experience
  • DOD 8570 IAT Level II required (Level III preferred)
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Participated in or led agile development teams
  • In depth understanding of Dev Ops methodologies
  • Worked with Concourse, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity or other Continuous Integration tools
  • Experience in VMware vSphere / ESXi / NSX-T
  • Experience with networking and related technologies (e.g. load balancing / DNS / SSL / firewalls / NAT / SDN)
  • Experienced in using Git
  • Experience in release management
  • Experience supporting production systems using Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
  • Competent to work at a high technical level on all phases of systems engineering activities
  • Excellent communication and briefing skills; shows tact; effective listening skills and follow through
  • Solid worth ethic and the ability to work in a mission critical environment
  • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work
  • Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience.
