Senior Technical Artist at FuturLab developing original games for PC and VR on a 6 month contract. Collaborating with art and tech teams to solve complex technical issues and improve art tooling.
Responsibilities
· Working closely with the tech art lead to deliver art tooling requirements
· Liaising with art and tech to collaborate tool improvements effectively
· Driving tool improvement efforts by informing best decisions and ensuring tooling is intuitive to use with great user experience
· Document tooling improvements for the team to follow
Requirements
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in the games industry as a technical artist
· Strong C# knowledge and experience for tool creation
· Strong Python knowledge and experience for tool creation
· Strong knowledge and experience in Unity games engine for art and tooling
· Understanding of Blender modelling package and Blender tool creation
· Experience profiling CPU, GPU and memory usage
**Desirable:**
· Experience designing intuitive user interfaces and user experience
· Experience with tooling for Substance Painter, Substance Designer and ZBrush
· Great technical knowledge in 3D modelling
· Experience optimising for lower-end hardware
· HLSL/GLSL knowledge to create performant shaders
· Amplify Shader Editor experience
· Compute shader knowledge
· Understanding of Unity's Scriptable Render Pipeline (URP/HDRP)
· Proficiency with Shader Graph and VFX for graph creation and custom tooling
