About the role

  • Powertrain Calibration Engineer for Ford's Electrified Powertrain Engineering team. Performing calibration duties on Gasoline/Electric Hybrid applications with lab and in-vehicle development responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead calibration development of a vehicle line
  • Manage and lead change control for the calibration team for a vehicle line
  • Engine, Drivability, or Diagnostic Powertrain Calibration
  • Evaluate and assess vehicle attributes (performance, fuel economy, emissions, drivability) on vehicle, engine dynamometer test cells, and environmental test cells.
  • Modify vehicle and powertrain control calibrations to improve fuel economy, performance, emissions, drivability, and diagnostics
  • Conduct vehicle testing and development in S.E. Michigan and at locations in Arizona, Colorado, Florida and Northern Canada
  • Design and conduct tests to validate engine and vehicle fuel economy, performance, emissions, drivability, and diagnostics
  • Review warranty data to identify emerging trends and develop corrective actions

Requirements

  • B.S. Engineering (BSME or BSEE) or a related field
  • 5+ Years of experience with Calibration Tools including ETAS and/or ATI, and Matlab
  • 5+ Years of calibration experience
  • 15% Travel - Responsibilities include laboratory and in vehicle development at testing facilities in Michigan, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, and Canada.
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Self- motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Combustion Engine Aftertreatment Experience preferred
  • Strong statistical knowledge
  • Familiarity with Emission Regulatory Requirements Worldwide
  • Hybrid calibration experience
  • Ability to read and understand Simulink flow diagrams and C programming source code
