About the role

  • CAE Engineer leading virtual design and optimization of vehicle exterior components through advanced analysis methods. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet performance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the System Design Specification analysis, design development and results documentation of exterior systems components.
  • Ability to create and modify finite element models that predicts vehicle structure performance by following the corporate requirements and procedures. Conduct CAE model audits.
  • Help to develop new analytical capabilities for a better prediction and physical tests. Participates in global forums and meetings to share technical information about new procedures and new ways of simulation.
  • Coordination with other areas such as: Design and Release Engineers, CAE teams, Digital Innovation, Suppliers, Vehicle Engineering and Manufacturing, to develop integral solutions using math virtual simulations.
  • Produces and evaluates solutions to improve the quality and cost of the designs, based on specialized engineering knowledge.
  • Interpret results from CAE and physical tests for the development of feasible counter-measures to meet systems and component level requirements. Correlate CAE models with physical tests**.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Science Materials are desirable) or related disciplines with coursework in Finite Element Methods. MS and Ph. D. degree preferred.
  • 90% English skills (Oral, reading, writing, and listening)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Structural CAE and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) theory, with a focus on Durability and Fatigue analysis.
  • Technical Expertise in Analysis: Extensive knowledge of both Linear Static and Non-Linear Dynamic analyses, including high-impact FE simulations.
  • Software Proficiency (Meshing/Post-processing): Expert-level skills in ANSA, HyperMesh, HyperView, and MetaPost.
  • Software Proficiency (Solvers/Optimization): Advanced knowledge of industry-standard solvers and tools such as Abaqus, Nastran, LS-Dyna, nCode, Optistruct, and the Hyperworks suite..
  • Programming skills, Python, Matlab, C, C++, R, or other.
  • Demonstrated ability to devise, create, or adapt novel analysis methods.
  • Evidence of technical excellence as indicated by technical presentations and reports.
  • Good understanding of materials properties.
