About the role
- Senior Software Engineer evolving data infrastructure from FHIR ingestion to AI-powered enrichment. Contributing to modernization projects in partnership with a U.S. health sector company.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve our data infrastructure—from FHIR ingestion through AI-powered enrichment.
- Build and maintain pipelines ingesting FHIR data from customer EHRs into AWS HealthLake
- Develop ETL processes using Glue/Spark for our multi-tenant Redshift warehouse
- Lead our transition from batch Glue jobs to event-driven pipelines (Kinesis/Kafka)
- Build AI Agents using MCPs for data enrichment workflows pushing to HealthLake, OpenSearch, RDS
- Improve our RAG pipeline with Neptune and S3 vector store integration
Requirements
- 5+ years data engineering experience
- Strong AWS data services experience (Glue, Redshift, RDS, Kinesis or Kafka)
- Proficiency in Python and SQL; working knowledge of C#
- Spark or similar distributed processing experience
- Comfort with AI-assisted development (Cursor, Copilot)
