Responsibilities
- Assist in providing technical advice and guidance for designated Engineering projects and programs at assigned site
- Assist in the review, investigation and development of appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects
- Participate on small to medium site construction, expansion or modification projects
- Administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment
- Develop working knowledge of local, state and federal regulations appropriate to area of assignment
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline with no experience required
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of Engineering
- Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Advanced degree or Professional Engineering (PE) Certification (preferred)
- Experience with or classes related to Power Systems Engineering (preferred)
- Experience with Power System Modeling software such as SKM, eTAP, etc. (preferred)
- Familiarity with industrial AC and DC motors, VFD’s and plant instrumentation (preferred)
- Familiarity with powerline layout, engineering and construction (preferred)
- Familiarity with MV power systems (preferred)
- Leadership and construction / mining experience (preferred)
- Knowledge and understanding of NEC & NFPA70E Regulations (preferred)
