Expediting Manager leading procurement and delivery processes for multimillion-dollar capital projects in New Orleans. Overseeing vendor coordination and team management while ensuring quality standards.
Responsibilities
Lead the expediting process to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services for major capital projects.
Coordinate vendor activities, monitor schedules, and resolve procurement and delivery issues to meet project timelines and quality standards.
Oversee a team of expeditors and supplier quality personnel across a portfolio of multimillion-dollar projects, supporting more than five capital projects concurrently.
Develop and implement expediting and supplier quality surveillance strategies and plans aligned with project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
Manage and optimize expediting processes to ensure efficiency and minimize delays.
Assign expediting and SQS personnel and coordinate with approved third-party agencies as needed.
Develop reporting systems for consistent information dissemination across projects.
Conduct inspections and audits to ensure quality and conformity of materials and equipment.
Train and mentor personnel to maintain standards.
Identify potential supply chain delays and develop mitigation plans with vendors.
Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain vendor performance metrics.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of experience in project procurement management and analysis projects; OR Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline and five (5) years combined experience in procurement management, inventory management, system & project management; OR Master’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline and five (5) years combined experience in procurement management, inventory management, system & project management
Ability to take a leadership oversight role involving multiple concurrent projects
Ability to manage a team of personnel including mentoring and guidance
Strong knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management for major capital projects
Knowledge of corporate governance policies, protocols, and procedures for compliance
Ability to support VPs, Directors, Project Managers, and interface with suppliers and contractors
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
