Responsibilities
Develop and lead pre-season and in-season plans based on historical sales, team performance, league-specific trends, and promotions.
Translate and cascade top-down financial targets into actionable sales, margin, receipt, and inventory plans at the divisional, vendor, and product hierarchy levels.
Maintain rolling forecasts to adjust to real-time business dynamics, fan sentiment, and supply chain variables.
Manage inventory flow, replenishment, and OTB to minimize out-of-stocks and excess aged inventory across all channels.
Leverage Fast Replenishment and analytics tools to optimize inventory positioning and speed to market.
Execute markdown and clearance strategies to drive productivity and margin recovery.
Partner with Buying and Channel leaders to define assortment strategies by platform (e.g., Digital, Venue, Events).
Align inventory allocation and product flow by store footprint, event footprint, and online channel segmentation.
Shape pricing and promotion calendars to drive channel performance while protecting margin.
Collaborate closely with Buying, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations to synchronize planning with fulfillment capabilities and supplier timelines—including drop ship and made-to-order programs.
Engage with category merchants to co-create product strategies, assortment architecture, and lifecycle planning across core and emerging categories.
Deliver regular performance reporting to leadership, highlighting risks and opportunities across sales, inventory, and margin.
Develop and track KPIs including forecasting accuracy, sell-through, margin contribution, and inventory productivity.
Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, systems, and team capabilities.
Requirements
10-15 years of merchandising planning experience
Experience with both e-commerce and brick and mortar retail
Familiarity with inventory strategy, assortment planning and product lifecycle management preferred
