Responsibilities
- Design and specify electrical systems for buildings, including:
- Power distribution, essential power systems (generators, UPS), grounding design.
- Telecommunications, data systems, security, and fire alarm systems.
- Lighting and lighting control systems.
- Prepare technical specifications, feasibility studies, and design briefs.
- Conduct building condition assessments and options evaluations.
- Estimate construction costs and develop project documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate and efficient designs.
Requirements
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed with Engineers Nova Scotia.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in electrical design for building systems.
- Familiarity with Nova Scotia market is an asset.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency with AGi32 lighting design software.
- Experience with SKM Power Tools software is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Building Codes, Canadian Electrical Code, electrical standards, and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
