About the role
- Surgery Coder performing outpatient surgery coding in accordance with HIPAA and OIG regulations. Contributes to process improvements and meets daily production and quality benchmarks.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate outpatient surgery coding, including IVR, general surgery, infusion and injection, and radiation oncology.
- Apply APC facility coding knowledge as applicable.
- Review and complete assigned audits with accuracy, adhering strictly to SOPs.
- Meet daily/weekly production and quality benchmarks.
- Maintain and update required logs such as productivity and clarification logs.
- Communicate effectively with TL/Manager for clarifications and escalations.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OIG and internal policies at all times.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Work independently with reliability and flexibility in a telecommuting setup.
- Identify trends, issues, and contribute to process improvements.
Requirements
- Life Science/Paramedical degree required.
- CPC or CPMA certification mandatory.
- Minimum 2+ years of surgery coding experience.
- Strong computer skills and ability to work in coding tools/EMR systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Full-time role; 40 hours/week, 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM IST, weekends off.
