Responsibilities
- Take ownership of and manage all company data and database environments;
- Join the Data Engineering team at the largest software and product development company for Brazil's financial market;
- Work in complex environments with high data volumes.
Requirements
- Experience tuning complex environments (high data volume, users, and transactions);
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server internals (Query Processor, Storage Engine, and SQLOS);
- Understanding of page and table allocation/access structures, indexing, statistics, etc.;
- Experience interpreting and analyzing execution plans for investigation and diagnosis of performance issues;
- Skilled in configuring, tuning, and using Query Store and Extended Events;
- Good understanding of lock structures and transaction concurrency;
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving multiple lock and deadlock scenarios;
- Experience implementing, troubleshooting, and administering SQL Server high-availability features (Log Shipping and AlwaysOn);
- Knowledge of major SQL Server wait types for identifying and optimizing bottlenecks and issues;
- Familiarity with SQL Server DMVs and DMFs for identification, optimization, and troubleshooting.
