About the role
- Lead Engineer responsible for the development and design of underground transmission systems at Eversource Energy. Ensuring safe, reliable, and competitive electric service while supervising a team of Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development, expansion, planning and design of the underground transmission system
- Assists with engineering input on maintenance and operation initiatives
- Evaluates system failures and provides appropriate resolutions
- Supervises, assigns, prioritizes, and directs the work performed by other Engineers
- Ensures that the transmission system is designed to internal and industry standards
- Supports the design of underground transmission lines at each phase of development.
- Manages contractors onboarded to perform external engineering functions
- Coordinates schedules and deliverables with the project teams.
Requirements
- Requires a BS Engineering or BS Engineering Technology
- An electrical/civil/mechanical engineering degree is preferred
- An advanced degree in Engineering or Business Administration is preferred
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience is required
- At least five (5) of those being in the technical, operational, or engineering aspects of underground transmission
- Working knowledge of standard office computer software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.)
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., AEIC, ICEA, CIGRE, IEEE)
- Knowledge of Cymcap and Pull Planner preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.
