About the role

• Lead Engineer responsible for the development and design of underground transmission systems at Eversource Energy. Ensuring safe, reliable, and competitive electric service while supervising a team of Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development, expansion, planning and design of the underground transmission system
• Assists with engineering input on maintenance and operation initiatives
• Evaluates system failures and provides appropriate resolutions
• Supervises, assigns, prioritizes, and directs the work performed by other Engineers
• Ensures that the transmission system is designed to internal and industry standards
• Supports the design of underground transmission lines at each phase of development.
• Manages contractors onboarded to perform external engineering functions
• Coordinates schedules and deliverables with the project teams.

Requirements

• Requires a BS Engineering or BS Engineering Technology
• An electrical/civil/mechanical engineering degree is preferred
• An advanced degree in Engineering or Business Administration is preferred
• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience is required
• At least five (5) of those being in the technical, operational, or engineering aspects of underground transmission
• Working knowledge of standard office computer software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.)
• Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., AEIC, ICEA, CIGRE, IEEE)
• Knowledge of Cymcap and Pull Planner preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.
