About the role
- Associate Engineer performing engineering assignments related to electric substation construction projects. Supporting project scope definition, cost estimation, and engineering studies with the transmission and distribution team.
Responsibilities
- perform engineering assignments in support of electric substation construction projects for Transmission and Distribution
- develop requirements defining the concept, scope, need and engineering & design aspects of substation projects
- support the preparation of project cost estimates and schedules
- conduct engineering studies involving substation equipment and materials
- communicate with others effectively to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering and design team for substation projects
- develop expertise as a Subject Matter Expert for one or more substation equipment categories
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
- A minimum of zero (0) to three (3) years of Substation Engineering, Power Systems, or related electric utility experience
- Familiarity with substation equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, reclosers, capacitor banks and associated controls, instrument transformers, reactors, switches, and batteries are desired.
- Individual must hold a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
