Responsibilities
Handle mainstream and moderately complex auto, general liability, and excess/umbrella liability claims
Review and analyze complex coverage issues and prepare coverage position letters
Investigate, analyze and evaluate liability and damages
Manage and direct outside counsel
Prepare case summary reports related to matters of significant reserve and trial activity
Set timely and appropriate case reserves
Develop and execute claim strategies as well as resolution strategies
Negotiate and resolve cases
Attend trials, mediations and settlement conferences
Work with underwriters to support policy construction and drafting
Report claim trends, data analysis, and risk assessments
Communicate extensively with insureds, brokers, reinsurers, actuaries, and underwriters
Attend client meetings and industry functions to support retention and development of client relationships and business
Perform similar work-related duties as assigned

Currently holds or readily can obtain all required adjuster licenses

Ability and willingness to present to senior management
Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims process and legal and regulatory environment
3-5 years of claims handling experience or legal experience
B.A. or B.S. required; JD helpful but not required.
