About the role

• Process Engineer for extrusion processes in an international packaging company. Engaging in optimization, planning, and project management for film extrusion.

Responsibilities

• Primary point of contact for the extrusion processes of our flexible films, as well as thermoforming films made of PP, CPET, APET and PP barrier films
• Identify, optimize and standardize processes within the company, analyze production problems (internal and external) and develop solutions
• Develop and evaluate manufacturing concepts in collaboration with the extrusion and forming production departments
• Manage individual projects such as machine conversions or provide internal technical support up to series maturity and final commissioning
• Support strategic planning, costing, development and coordination of R&D and customer projects
• Oversee the production and documentation of sampling and trial extrusions
• Laboratory analysis and evaluation of process optimizations
• Support production, quality assurance and sales with technical inquiries for project implementation

Requirements

• Completed degree or vocational training with professional experience, or further training as a plastics technician or in process engineering
• In-depth knowledge of extrusion processes
• Good analytical skills (microtome sections, DSC, IR)
• Strong knowledge of film extrusion and film processing
• Six Sigma training advantageous
• Confident user of MS Office and ideally SAP
• Good communication skills
• Structured and analytical working style
• Enjoy working in a team
• Very good German and English skills (additional languages advantageous)
