About the role
- Supplier Quality Engineer ensuring compliance with quality standards and driving continuous improvement within supplier facilities. Engaging with suppliers to monitor KPIs and optimize performance within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Drive supplier selection through Common Assessments
- Lead on-site process audits to ensure compliance and process capability
- Develop suppliers using Lean tools to improve quality, eliminate systemic issues, optimize cost, inventory, and delivery performance
- Monitor supplier KPIs to reduce risks and improve performance across the supply base
- Support smooth transitions, VA/VE activities, and new product introductions (NPIs) with suppliers
- Partner with suppliers during NPIs to ensure milestones are achieved on time
- Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing teams to define process parameters that meet product and process requirements
- Contribute to and lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Coach and develop suppliers using quality improvement tools (process control, error proofing, etc.) to achieve Resideo’s goals of zero disruptions, on-time delivery, and efficient PO management
Requirements
- Strong understanding of quality engineering practices
- Trained in Six Sigma / Lean methodologies
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver innovative quality solutions
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare progress reports and executive-level presentations
- Ability to work both in office and production environments
- Self-motivation and ability to deliver results with minimal supervision
- Hands-on experience with quality assurance processes
- Proven experience leading teams in problem solving and driving supplier improvements using Six Sigma tools
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities
- Effective negotiation skills and ability to build win-win supplier relationships
- High level of interpersonal skills to manage conflict and challenging situations effectively
- Proficiency in Czech and English
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Supplier Quality or related roles
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards
