About the role

Responsibilities
- Drive Quality Assurance and Quality Control philosophies throughout the plant organization
- Represent the "Voice of the Customer"
- Responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the quality department
- Responsible for Quality Assurance and Quality Control on site and the monitoring and maintenance of the ISO 9001 and HOQ (House of Quality) system
- Accomplishes objectives through high quality recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and performance management of employees
- Ensure delivery on budget fixed cost performance and identify and drive cost reduction opportunities for plant
- Understand all applicable regulations and policies and assures compliance
- Strategy development and customer focus
- Laboratory management
- Quality risk identification and management
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing in chemical industry (surfactants and person care product manufacturing preferred)
- 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge and experience with implementation, maintenance, and audit of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 or similar)
- Experience leading teams and working with customers
- Experience in troubleshooting difficult problems in a plant environment
- Excellent project management and organization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, and to manage cross functional teams
- SQC, SPC, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement.
