About the role

  • Code Consultant delivering technical and leadership roles in building code consulting projects at Entuitive. Responsible for compliance and alternative solutions with a focus on fire safety engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Technical delivery of building code consulting projects, including plan reviews and markups, report writing, and coordination.
  • Technical input to alternative solutions including fire modelling, evacuation modelling, and risk assessments.
  • Conduct field reviews and other contract administrative duties.
  • Draft project-related correspondence as needed.
  • Participate in project meetings facilitating solutions to achieve code compliance or options for consideration that are outside the code (alternative solutions).
  • Collaborate with external consultants and constructors, and other services internally at Entuitive.
  • Project Management.
  • Business Development & Client Relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in civil or mechanical engineering, architecture, or a related field, or Diploma in Architectural or Fire Protection Engineering Technology
  • 6-8 years of experience in building code compliance and developing performance-based Alternative Solution in a consulting environment
  • Registered Professional Engineer or other professional designation such as BCIN Professional
  • Experience interpreting and applying regulatory codes and standards to ensure compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to develop performance-based solutions meeting the requirements of the regulations and achieving approvals
  • Knowledgeable of local market conditions, emerging trends, and opportunities
  • Strong business acumen, and the ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Proven ability to build relationships and develop networks, including with Authorities Having Jurisdiction
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders utilizing conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proven client service capability along with the experience to effectively manage multiple teams simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while juggling competing priorities
  • The willingness to be Entuitive.
