Founding Engineer taking ownership of Bliro's iOS app, enhancing architecture and performance. Building AI-powered mobile experiences for personal assistant in Munich-based startup.
Responsibilities
Own the iOS platform. Take full responsibility for Bliro's iOS app - architecture, performance, reliability, and release pipeline. This is your product.
Scale what's built. Take our V1 Swift/SwiftUI app and evolve it - improve architecture, harden reliability, optimize performance, and establish the patterns that let us ship faster as the product grows.
Build for real-time. Implement robust audio pipelines, WebSocket connections, and background processing that keep Bliro's transcription engine running reliably across every edge case iOS throws at you.
Ship AI-powered mobile experiences. Design and build the interfaces that bring Bliro's AI assistant to life on iOS - meeting summaries, agentic workflows, and CRM integrations, all feeling native and fast.
Set the standard. Establish testing strategies (snapshot testing, UI testing), CI/CD pipelines, and code quality practices for our iOS codebase from scratch.
Requirements
Strong computer science fundamentals from a top-tier university (TUM, ETH, RWTH, KIT, or equivalent)
3-5 years of production iOS development with Swift and SwiftUI
Deep understanding of iOS platform APIs - concurrency (async/await, actors), networking, audio frameworks, background execution, and app lifecycle
Experience architecting iOS apps from the ground up, not just contributing to existing ones
Track record of owning and shipping complex mobile features end-to-end
Strong opinions on code quality, testing, and system design - loosely held.
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with web or backend development (Node.js, TypeScript, MongoDB) - you're not afraid to fix something outside of Xcode
Previous CTO, tech lead, or founding engineer role
Experience scaling and hardening an existing iOS codebase (performance profiling, modularization, architecture evolution)
Familiarity with real-time audio processing or WebSocket-based architectures on iOS
Knowledge of snapshot testing tooling (swift-snapshot-testing, Prefire)
Electron or cross-platform desktop development experience
Understanding of compliance requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR) in production systems
Experience building or scaling your own product (side project, startup, open-source)
Benefits
Real ownership from day one. No ticket factories. You pick up problems, not tasks, and you own them until they're solved.
Company equity. VSOP participation so you benefit directly from the company's success.
Technical depth meets product impact. You're not building internal tooling. Every line of code ships to paying customers and directly moves the business.
Elite, small team. 10 engineers, seed-stage, Munich-based. Everyone knows everyone. No layers, no politics.
Leadership trajectory. You'll define how we build for iOS. As the team grows, you grow into the lead role naturally.
