About the role

  • Lead Engineer Compliance at EMERSON ensuring regulatory and compliance standards for industrial control products. Collaborating with design teams to manage EMC and safety risks.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and track regulatory and compliance requirements for industrial control products.
  • Participate in compliance reviews with design teams from the early stages, providing inputs for early mitigation of potential EMC or safety issues.
  • Build test plans and equipment configurations for EMC, safety, and marine testing.
  • Implement in-house EMC and safety testing for pre-compliance and certification.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve EMC issues.
  • Prepare test reports and coordinate submissions with certification bodies (TI, UL, FM, CSA, BASEEFA for ATEX & IECx).
  • Coordinate with marine agencies for new or renewal certifications.
  • Manage compliance test lab, equipment, and calibration schedules.
  • Support factory and engineering audits, addressing non-conformities.
  • Oversee the laboratory quality assurance program and annual lab audits for EMC data acceptance by Technology International.
  • Deliver technical presentations to peers and managers on regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Communicate technical issues effectively with architects.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5-10 years of proven expertise in regulatory and compliance requirements, specifically in industrial control products.
  • Standards Knowledge: Strong understanding of IEC, ATEX, and CISPR standards.
  • Hardware Testing: Skilled in measurement and validation methods for hardware design, with experience in using related instruments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in electrical and electronics design, with a solid foundation in circuit analysis theory.
  • ECAD Tools: Familiarity with ECAD tools such as Mentor Graphics or Cadence is a plus.
  • Multi-functional Collaboration: Capable of coordinating tasks across teams including Firmware, Mechanical, Component Engineering, and PCB layout.
