About the role
- Data Architect designing end-to-end Snowflake data solutions and collaborating with technical stakeholders at Emerson. Supporting the realization of Data and Digitalization Strategy.
Responsibilities
- Architect and design end-to-end Snowflake data solutions, aligning technical architecture with business objectives and enterprise standards.
- Define and implement best practices for Snowflake architecture, including data modeling, security, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
- Design and oversee data integration pipelines using modern ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Snowpipe, Airflow, Informatica, Talend, or cloud-native services).
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate data requirements into scalable and maintainable Snowflake-based solutions.
- Integrate data from diverse sources—on-premises systems, cloud platforms, APIs, and third-party data providers—into the Snowflake environment.
- Implement and maintain data governance, lineage, and metadata management across the Snowflake ecosystem.
- Monitor and optimize query performance, storage, and compute resources, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of data models, data flows, and architectural decisions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and Snowflake capabilities, continuously improving architecture and delivery practices.
Requirements
- Overall 12+ years of experience with minimum 3 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or data warehousing, with hands-on expertise in Snowflake.
- Proven experience designing and deploying large-scale data platforms in cloud or hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong proficiency in SQL (Snowflake SQL, T-SQL, or PL/SQL) and programming/scripting languages such as Python or Spark.
- Deep understanding of Snowflake features, including virtual warehouses, streams, tasks, data sharing, and security configurations.
- Strong data modeling skills (dimensional, normalized, denormalized, etc.) and familiarity with modern data architecture patterns such as Data Mesh, and Medallion.
- Experience with ETL/ELT design, data orchestration, and workflow automation tools.
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured technical documentation.
- Good interpersonal skills using English, both spoken and written, as will be working with overseas team
