About the role

  • Automation Architect driving enterprise automation solutions for global medical technology company. Establishing architectural standards and providing technical leadership in automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain domain‑level architecture for enterprise automation solutions through the stages of planning, design, execution, and operation.
  • Provide technical leadership for automation and software development initiatives, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise IT standards and business objectives.
  • Define end‑to‑end architecture for automation solutions, including RPA, low‑code platforms, integrations, and supporting components.
  • Translate business requirements into system qualities that lead to repeatable and executable design strategies and patterns for business process automation initiatives.
  • Identify and define opportunities for automation and integration, selecting appropriate tools (e.g., RPA, IDP platforms), shared services, interfaces, and data flows.
  • Develop, institute, and maintain architecture guidelines, design standards, and best practices specific to enterprise automation solutions, aligned with overall IT architecture standards.
  • Provide oversight to ensure compliance with architectural standards and practices through all aspects of planning, execution, and operation for automation solutions.
  • Lead the evaluation of emerging automation, RPA, and intelligent automation technologies for integration into the existing IT environment.
  • Develop, institute, and maintain the design and metadata repository for integrating all aspects of established architectural models.
  • Survey industry trends, and evangelize relevant automation technologies, standards, and methodologies.
  • Serve as the technical authority for complex automation initiatives, providing expert guidance and resolving design and implementation challenges.
  • Provide training, coaching and knowledge transfer to team members on more complex automation architecture and solution design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience with deep technical expertise in software development /testing frameworks, cloud technologies (AWS/Azure), low code automation platforms including UiPath, or Microsoft Power Platform, designing scalable automation strategies, and driving ROI-focused process improvements
  • 3 years of solid performance in an architect role working with cross-functional teams (within IT and/or within the business) on enterprise-level or complex / novel implementations of automation solutions and digital applications.
  • 2 years of demonstrably solid performance in an architect role working with cross-functional teams (within IT and/or within the business) on enterprise-level or complex/novel implementations of automation solutions on Microsoft Power Platform.
  • 2 years of relevant industry experience (e.g., medical device, pharmaceuticals, etc.) or in highly regulated environments preferred.
  • Certifications in related disciplines and architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF Enterprise Architect, COBIT, ITIL, CDMP, OCP, Advanced architect on MS Power Platform etc.)
  • Extensive technical expertise and practical experience in software development and solution architecture on low-code platforms, including Microsoft Power Platform, with proficiency in Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, C#, Python, PowerShell, Power BI, and Intelligent Document Processing (IDP).
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives and communicate to various levels of audience or to explain complex or technical matters in a manner suitable for non-technical audiences.
  • Recognized as an expert in Business Process Automation area within the organization.
  • Partner with business leaders, product owners, and IT teams to align automation solutions with business goals.
  • Technical leadership and architectural oversight throughout the end-to-end SDLC process (e.g. Analysis, Design, Development, QA/QC, Go Live, Support etc.).
  • Broad and deep technical knowledge – expertise in multiple aspects including hardware, software, applications, and systems engineering and QA/testing.
  • Expert in developing detailed architecture models, design, executable plans and documentation.
  • Knowledge of best practices related to IT governance, operations, and administration.
  • Represents technical leadership on projects within Intelligent Automation domain, interfacing with other architects, project managers, and production team.
  • Consultation in project setting within specific technical domain.
  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control.
