Responsibilities
Perform aeromechanical activities related to the integration of weapon systems onto aircraft platforms, including mechanical interfaces, carriage, and release environments.
Define, assess, and verify mechanical interfaces between weapon systems, suspension equipment, and aircraft structures in accordance with integration requirements.
Conduct or support aeromechanical analyses such as structural loads, vibration, aeroelastic and dynamic response to assess aircraft–weapon compatibility and integration impacts.
Contribute to and support aeromechanical aspects of design, integration, and readiness reviews by providing technical inputs, analysis results, and engineering justifications.
Support and execute aeromechanical test and verification activities, including ground and flight test preparation, instrumentation coordination, and data review related to weapon integration.
Ensure aeromechanical integration activities comply with applicable military standards, airworthiness requirements, contractual obligations, and internal engineering procedures.
Prepare, review, and maintain aeromechanical engineering documentation, calculations, reports, and compliance evidence with full traceability to requirements.
Identify, analyze, and support resolution of aeromechanical issues arising during design, integration, test, or operational phases.
Collaborate with systems, safety, test, manufacturing, and platform integration teams to ensure coherent and safe aircraft–weapon integration.
Contribute to continuous improvement of aeromechanical methods, tools, processes, and technical knowledge within the organization.
Apply approved engineering software tools (e.g. CAD tools such as Creo or SolidWorks, numerical tools such as MATLAB, and CFD tools) to support aeromechanical analyses, model fitment, data processing, and evaluation of aerodynamic and integration impacts.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with sufficient aeronautical subjects, or BSc/B Eng. in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering.
8+ years of similar experience within the defence or aerospace industry, preferably involving aircraft–weapon or airborne system integration
Expert knowledge of safety-critical development processes (airborne / weapon systems)
Advanced knowledge of test and verification processes for airborne systems
Knowledge of aircraft–weapon integration principles and aeromechanical interfaces
Knowledge of structural loads, vibration, aeroelasticity, and dynamic response
Knowledge of engineering analysis, data interpretation, and technical reporting
Knowledge of engineering software tools (CAD, numerical analysis, CFD)
