About the role

  • Postdoctoral Research Associate at University of Edinburgh developing and validating fjord models. Working on UK NERC-funded project exploring ocean-ice interactions in Greenland's fjords.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate reduced physics models of heat and freshwater exchange in Greenland’s glacial fjords.
  • Work primarily on application of the box model in idealised or real-world settings.
  • Quantify at a continental scale the role of fjords in ocean heat delivery to the ice and/or freshwater release to the ocean.
  • Collaborate with team members from partner institutions.

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent research experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in glacial fjord modelling.
  • Proficient in quantitative data analysis and numerical modelling.
  • Experience with computer programming relevant to the project.
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
