About the role

  • Milieu Therapist role supporting patients with eating disorders and mental health issues. Facilitating groups, monitoring meals, and providing crisis intervention in clinical settings.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates curriculum-based groups
  • Provides meal monitoring and support.
  • Documentation of groups, meals and patient check-ins and observations
  • Provides support to Milieu including the following: De-escalation and crisis management
  • Bathroom monitoring and support for eating disorder patients
  • Monitoring outside breaks
  • Conducts self-harm and suicide assessment
  • Support morning routine in IP/Res programs
  • Collects and reports weights, vitals and urine in some settings
  • Implements individual behavior management plans for some patients and serves as clinical lead for the program in standalone programs in evenings and weekends.
  • Will lead some psychotherapy groups.
  • Coverage for Primary Therapists (for individual, family and group therapies as well as for patient assessments) with support from Clinical Manager or Clinical Director

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in mental health or related degree program- required
  • Bachelors degree- required
  • Intern or associate license from appropriate state licensing board- required
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic principles and techniques- required
  • Ability to manage group dynamics effectively
  • Proficient in keeping timely, detailed and accurate records- required
  • Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations effectively- required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills- Required
