About the role
- Senior E2E-Test Automation Engineer at E.ON developing automated testing strategies for their digital platform in Cologne. Collaborating with Agile teams on quality assurance and CI/CD integration.
Responsibilities
- Definition and implementation of E2E tests for web applications (React / Next.js), mobile apps (Flutter) and API-driven backends
- Design and maintenance of reliable automated tests for critical customer journeys such as login, account management, billing, payments and self-service
- Integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and establishment of clear quality gates
- Close collaboration with product and engineering teams in Agile/Scrum setups to embed quality early
- Improving test stability and coverage based on production data and real user issues
- Establishing cross-team standards, reusable test utilities and best practices
Requirements
- Several years of experience in end-to-end test automation for modern digital products
- Extensive experience testing web applications; mobile testing (Flutter) is a plus
- Practical experience with modern test tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, API testing)
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and quality gates
- Pragmatic mindset with a focus on risk minimization and maintainable test suites
- Strong communication skills in German and English and a pronounced ownership mindset
- Nice to have: experience testing cloud-based or event-driven systems
- Background in regulated or high-volume consumer platforms
- Experience with contract testing or advanced test data strategies
- Programming experience (TypeScript, Dart or similar languages)
- Experience using AI-assisted testing or development tools
