About the role
- Engineering Technologist III or Senior Engineering Technologist providing data and controls for situational awareness of the Bulk Power System. Supporting fault identification, troubleshooting, and maintenance of transmission assets.
Responsibilities
- Providing data and controls to the System Operators for situational awareness of the Bulk Power System
- Assist field technicians and System Operators in identifying where faults are located as well as troubleshooting and mitigation of issues on the Bulk Power System
- Development of baselines and I/O summaries for existing and new substations according to Duke Energy Florida (DEF) standards and configuration templates
- Create RTU configurations and Point Assignment Sheet (PAS) with CONITEL protocol to support Analog communication system per DEF configuration and templates
- Setup, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of systems
- Testing of equipment to ensure functionality with DEF system
- Developing solutions and mitigation plans during testing of new equipment and existing equipment installed on the DEF system
Requirements
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology AND two (2)+ years minimum of related experience
- Associate’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology AND four (4)+ years minimum of related experience
- In lieu of degrees and experience listed above , high school diploma/GED AND six (6) years minimum of related experience
- Experience in creating Analog RTU configurations, Point Assignment Sheet (PAS) and troubleshooting for systems based on CONITEL protocol.
- Experience in creating RTU configurations, Point Assignment Sheet and troubleshooting for systems based on IP network.
- Familiarity with NERC CIP compliance procedures related to Electronic Security Perimeter requirements and regulations.
