About the role
- SAP License and IT Application Manager supporting the IT strategy and managing SAP license assets. Collaborating with internal stakeholders to optimize licensing costs and ensuring compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manage the SAP license inventory, including ensuring accurate measurement, allocation of licenses, and coordinating license procurement activities
- Advise SAP-using IT teams and product owners—particularly on selecting the appropriate licensing model, optimizing license costs and inventory, and defining requirements for new SAP contracts
- Support the Service Manager in planning, managing, and allocating SAP maintenance fees to the responsible cost centers
- Operate and enhance the Software Asset Management (SAM) tool, and automate workflows and reports to increase efficiency
- Advise internal stakeholders on Software Asset Management and support license inventories and audits
- Analyze license usage and identify savings and optimization opportunities across various IT applications
Requirements
- University degree, a two-year technical college qualification, or equivalent experience acquired by other means
- Practical experience with measurement using the LAW (License Administration Workbench), SAP license metrics, and contract terms
- Solid knowledge of Software Asset Management processes, ideally with experience implementing, operating, and further developing SAM tools
- Ability to analyze license usage and identify potential cost savings
- Experience automating workflows and reports, e.g., with Power Automate, scripting, or comparable tools
- Strong analytical skills combined with a conscientious, results-oriented working style
- A collaborative team player who is enthusiastic about new trends and ideas
