About the role

  • Lead Data Engineer driving design and optimisation of data platform at Doctor Care Anywhere. Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure high-quality analytics and data delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, build, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and data platform components.
  • Architect and optimise solutions using Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, and related Azure services.
  • Oversee data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes to support analytics, reporting, and operational data needs.
  • Mentor and guide a team of data engineers, promoting best practices and engineering standards.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and product owners to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards are upheld across all data engineering deliverables.
  • Evaluate new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance the data engineering function.
  • Support the evolution of our cloud data strategy and contribute to architectural decisions.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Azure SQL / SQL Server
  • Azure Data Factory (ADF) for orchestration and data pipelines
  • Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, PySpark/Scala)
  • Azure cloud services (Storage, Key Vault, Functions, etc.)
  • Proven experience designing and implementing modern data architectures (e.g., lakehouse, data warehouse, ELT frameworks).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python preferred).
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data engineering.
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data at scale.
  • Desirable / Nice to Have
  • Snowflake: exposure to Snowflake architecture, SQL, and pipelines.
  • Dynamics 365 / Dataverse: understanding of underlying data structures and integration approaches.
  • Experience with Power BI data modelling concepts.
  • Knowledge of data governance tools and practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management — able to engage with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong leadership qualities with experience mentoring or guiding engineering teams.
  • A collaborative, personable approach — able to build trust and influence across the organisation.
  • Problem‑solver with a focus on delivering pragmatic, effective solutions.
  • Comfortable working in an agile, fast-paced environment.
