About the role

  • Embroidery Designer creating captivating, wearable designs infused with a whimsical, dark edge for a UK fashion brand. Working within a fast-paced creative team to push the brand's unconventional vision.

Responsibilities

  • Turn inspirations into captivating, wearable designs that enchant and empower.
  • Meet capability requirements including brand aesthetic understanding, sales awareness, and confident design skills.
  • Translate mystical and esoteric themes into fresh, wearable collectables.
  • Create seamless repeats and prepare production-ready artwork.
  • Support seasonal concept development through mood boards and research.
  • Collaborate closely with internal design and production teams, ensure quality across collections.
  • Keep up with niche fashion trends and symbolic art references.
  • Create a technique swatch library and manage print and embroidery archive.

Requirements

  • A degree in Textile design or a related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in textile or embroidery design, ideally within a fashion or a lifestyle brand with a strong visual identity
  • A portfolio that shows a love for magical, symbolic, or nature-inspired themes, and a dark edge.
  • Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (hand-drawing/illustration skills and experience working with print and graphics are a big plus)
  • Competency using Wacom tablet
  • An eye for detail, pattern flow, colour palettes, and storytelling through design
  • Ability to balance creative expression with commercial awareness
  • Confident working within an agile and fast-paced environment;
  • Passion for alternative fashion, folklore, the occult, or mythological themes and conducting independent research
  • Skilled in machine embroidery, beading techniques, proven experience working with factories in the Far East and India.
