About the role
- Senior Network Engineer responsible for designing and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure for Dexcom. Involves collaboration with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to support initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable and secure enterprise network architectures (LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD‑WAN, Data Center).
- Evaluate new network technologies and recommend improvements or upgrades.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, load balancers, and VPN devices.
- Manage and optimize routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and Layer 2 technologies (VLANs, STP, EtherChannel).
- Partner with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams to support enterprise initiatives.
- Work with InfoSec teams to enforce network security policies and controls.
- Utilize monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Cisco Catalyst Center, or equivalent to monitor network performance and proactively remediate issues.
- Participate in security incident response related to network events.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation (network diagrams, inventories, SOPs).
- Support audit, compliance, and change‑management processes.
- Engage with vendors for equipment lifecycle planning, support cases, and new technology evaluations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering.
- Proven experience in designing and managing large-scale network infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security technologies.
- Proficiency in network-related programming languages and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong experience in managing complete infrastructure including the following technologies: Routing/Switching/Wireless (Cisco, Extreme) Firewalls (Palo Alto) VPN (Palo Alto, Cisco) NAC (ForeScout) Load Balancing (Citrix NetScaler) SD-WAN (Palo Alto, Fortinet)
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) are highly desirable.
