Responsibilities
Lead the team of legal engineers, document automation specialists, and eDiscovery experts within Innovation & Intelligence
Drive the strategic direction and implementation of legal tech initiatives across Dentons Europe
Transform legal service delivery through technology-enabled innovation, automation, and process optimisation
Direct management of Senior Legal Engineers and collaborate with firm leadership to identify tech-driven innovation opportunities
Define legal technology strategy, oversee automation solutions, re-engineer legal processes, develop and deploy tools, and manage vendors
Build, lead, and develop the Legal Tech Enablement team, set objectives, provide feedback, and conduct performance reviews
Partner with practice group leaders to understand needs and co-create technology solutions
Establish and enforce quality standards, methodologies, and governance frameworks for legal engineering work
Mentor Senior Legal Engineers in technical leadership and project management
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Law preferred and/or Computer Science, Engineering, Social Sciences or related field
Advanced degree (Master's/MBA) in Technology, Legal Innovation, or related discipline (preferred)
Legal qualification (law degree or equivalent)
Minimum 5-6 years in legal technology, legal engineering, or legal operations
Proven track record of leading legal technology initiatives in a law firm, corporate legal department, or legal tech company
Experience in strategic planning, business case development, and stakeholder management at senior levels
Direct experience with legal workflow automation, document automation, process design, or legal application development
Background in consulting, legal operations transformation, or change management is a plus
Deep understanding of legal processes, workflows, and service delivery models
Expert knowledge of legal technology ecosystem including automation platforms, document assembly tools, matter management systems, and emerging AI/ML applications in legal
Strong understanding of legal practice area requirements and challenges
Knowledge of data governance, information security, and regulatory compliance in legal contexts
Experience with low-code/no-code development platforms and automation tools
Strong analytical skills to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Understanding of software development lifecycle and project management methodologies
Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques for measuring ROI and impact
Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences; strong presentation skills; ability to influence and persuade senior stakeholders
Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams; strong coaching and mentoring capabilities; inclusive leadership style
