About the role

• (Senior) Backend Engineer needed for Databox, a SaaS company, building modular backend solutions. Collaborate across teams with a focus on modern container-based solutions in TypeScript and PHP.

Responsibilities

• Be actively involved in planning, implementing, and maintaining modern container-based backend solutions
• Write, review, and maintain code primarily in Node.js/TypeScript, PHP, and related technologies
• Work closely with our product managers and other engineers on the best user experience possible
• Cooperate with other teams to come up with the best technical solutions
• Be responsible for helping triage issues, bugs, and security vulnerabilities
• Develop as an individual and directly contribute to a growing team

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer with a track record of building modular systems, simple solutions, and high-quality code
• Experience with .NET (C#). Since new programming languages can be learned quickly, we care much more about your general engineering skills than knowledge of a particular language or framework
• Experience working with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL)
• Highly valuable: the ability to write clear and efficient code that performs at scale
• A solid understanding of OO and MVC design principles, RESTful APIs, caching concepts, the HTTP protocol, and general web architecture
• Being an open-minded team player with the ability to take the initiative, be accountable, work independently, enjoy an increased level of responsibility, help the team to grow fast, help others and learn quickly
• Enjoying working across layers of the stack and doing all it takes to solve problems and delight users both internally and externally.
