About the role

Responsibilities

  • Technical management and maintenance of biogas plants: You are responsible for the technical support of our biogas plants, including the associated combined heat and power (CHP) units and biogas upgrading facilities.
  • On-site presence at the plants, with work in Potsdam by arrangement (Danpower GmbH headquarters) and mobile assignments.
  • You lead the team and plan the deployment of your staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • You manage onboarding and maintain our service and maintenance concepts to keep the plants in optimal condition.
  • Ensuring operational readiness and process optimization: A key responsibility is ensuring and monitoring the feedstock supply so the plant operates efficiently.
  • In the event of technical failures and disruptions, you independently analyze root causes and implement pragmatic solutions to resolve them quickly.
  • Continuously optimize process flows and assess the biological condition of the facilities to increase efficiency.
  • Permit management, occupational health & safety, and cost-effectiveness: You ensure compliance with the project's economic specifications and work closely with the operations team as well as regularly with management and executive leadership.
  • Additionally, you support handling insurance and warranty claims and ensure that operations remain compliant with permits.
  • Furthermore, you monitor compliance with all relevant occupational health and safety measures.

Requirements

  • Degree or technical qualification: You have a completed degree in agricultural sciences, mechanical engineering, or process engineering with a focus on bioenergy or biogas. Alternatively, you have technical training complemented by further qualification as a technician or master craftsman.
  • Professional experience and expertise: You have several years of professional experience in the biogas sector, possess a solid understanding of biological processes and process engineering operations, and have already gained experience leading small operational teams.
  • Specific technical knowledge: In addition, you bring expertise in plant engineering, engine technology, and gas upgrading.
  • Personal competencies: Commercial aptitude and strong negotiation skills make you an ideal fit.
  • IT, language and other skills: Very good MS Office skills, native-level German language skills, and possession of a valid Class B driving license complete your profile.
