About the role
- Consultant Pharmacist coordinating pharmaceutical services within long term care facilities, addressing regulatory compliance and resident care. Collaborating with facility leadership to ensure quality healthcare delivery.
Responsibilities
- Assists the facility in identifying, evaluating, and addressing pharmacy-related concerns and issues that affect resident care, medical care, quality of life, and/or regulatory compliance.
- Responsible for collaboration with facility leaders and staff to coordinate pharmaceutical services within long term facilities, guiding development and evaluation of those procedures.
- Recommends clinical reviews as required by federal and state regulation to company leadership.
- Advances issue resolutions and communicates early warning signs of potential issues.
- Represents the company when communicating with customers to promote and drive organic growth as well as new business.
- Identifies new methods of conducting executive reviews and other customer meetings as required.
- Acts as leading authority of appropriate pharmaceutical corporate functions to meet overall site goals and objectives.
- Keeps up-to date on regulations or contracts for facility types and provides written reports of these reviews to applicable facility staff.
- Guides other colleagues through consultation, mentoring, and collaborative leadership to build depth of capability, and provides functional (matrix) supervision.
Requirements
- Active pharmacist license in good standing in New York
- Immunization certified or willingness to become immunization certified
- Strong preference for pharmacist with additional license in Connecticut, or ability to obtain
- 2+ years of experience as a long term care pharmacist
- B.S. in Pharmacy or PharmD degree required
- Certification in geriatric pharmacy preferred
