- Manage the full lifecycle of substation design projects, from conceptual design through to construction and commissioning.
- Ensure that all designs adhere to relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one state, with the ability to obtain licensure in other states as required.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in substation design, with a strong focus on electrical engineering and project management.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring junior engineers in a technical capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of substation design principles, equipment (e.g., transformers, breakers, switchgear), and protective relaying systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (ANSI, IEEE, NESC, NEC).
- Experience in business development and client relationship management in the energy or utilities sector.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel to project sites within the Southeast U.S. as required.
