About the role

  • Internship in agricultural engineering at CTIFL to evaluate flowering cartographies and analyze thinning strategies in orchards. Involves hands-on fieldwork and statistical analysis of results.

Responsibilities

  • Assess flowering maps in orchards
  • Analyze thinning carried out based on these maps
  • Characterize decision support tools (DSTs) for thinning in apple and pear trees
  • Study different thinning strategies for apple and pear trees
  • Deepen knowledge of current and emerging thinning practices
  • Prepare a summary of the latest literature on the subject
  • Prepare and select plant material for trials
  • Identify the different flowering stages to better determine application timing for tools and treatments
  • Carry out field observations (flowering rate, fruit set, etc.)
  • Analyze results using statistical tools (Expé-R, RStudio)
  • Interpret the results obtained and write reports
  • Participate in the technical team's evaluations
