About the role

Senior Project Controls Engineer supporting development and delivery of a growing portfolio of projects in Aberdeen. The role involves monitoring, control, and reporting to facilitate successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

Supporting the establishment and management of the programme, monitoring, control and reporting requirements to comply with the Contract.
Facilitating the successful delivery of the Project(s).
Developing and maintaining schedules ensuring interface milestones, WBS, client governance gateways (not exhaustive) are captured correctly.
Providing monthly progress updates and input into reporting requirements.
Applying Earned Value Management techniques.
Ensuring alignment of costs with the programme and resource where necessary.
Arranging timely planning workshops and reviews with the team.
Analysing schedules and providing critical path analysis and proactively managing activities and milestones.
Ensuring reasons for changes to the project’s baseline plan are understood and communicated to the wider project team.
Challenging schedule and cost variances against the baseline plan.
Managing and maintaining Cost Control, including labour reporting and resource forecasts.
Supporting Applications for payments to the client.
Production of weekly & monthly reports, ensuring they are validated and submitted to suit both internal and external reporting requirements.
Ensuring that project controls processes are consistently applied across the project and ensuring overall integration of performance information.
Supporting governance to ensure robust cost and schedule performance.
Proposing Key Performance Indicators and monitoring them.

Ideally has a breadth of experience across whole project lifecycle (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning processes).
Minimum of HNC/HND ideally in an Engineering discipline or relevant experience
Effective communication within team and with stakeholders.
An experienced user of the relevant Programme tools and techniques.
High level of numeracy and excellent analytical skills.
The ability to reconcile cost information as it applies to the programme of work.
Experience in the implementation of Earned Value Management based Project Control systems, in accordance with relevant national standards.
Proficient in the interpretation of cost, estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools.
Relevant experience in Project Controls and/or Project Delivery, preferably in a highly regulated environment.
Able to demonstrate competence in Excel.
