About the role
- MOS Software Engineer maintaining safety-critical tools for constellr's satellite operations. Contributing to operational efficiency, cybersecurity, and tool development in a remote or hybrid capacity.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance existing safety-critical in-house tools.
- Implement new features to improve operations, automate processes, and scale infrastructure for fleet expansion.
- Develop new tools based on requirements from upcoming missions or operator needs.
- Collaborate closely with the satellite operations team to address challenges and propose technical solutions.
- Engage with suppliers for maintenance and updates of procured tools and services.
- Ensure timely reaction to safety-critical issues and prioritise cybersecurity in all developments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Solid experience as a software developer (experience in aerospace or safety-critical software is a plus).
- Proficiency in Python development.
- Strong understanding of Linux environments and cloud-based deployments (AWS experience is a plus).
- Expertise with SQL and database technologies (PostgreSQL required; InfluxDB is a plus).
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools like Grafana.
- Hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Passion for space projects and familiarity with space operations or Earth observation missions.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, deliver results on time, and proactively address deviations.
- Quick learner with a drive to expand knowledge and skill sets.
- Collaborative, team-player mindset with a strong motivation to shape constellr’s organisation.
- Analytical, results-oriented, and self-motivated with strong discipline for mission success.
