- Lead evaluation and adoption of infrastructure technologies (compute, networking, storage, observability) to improve performance and maintain uptime during demand spikes.
- Anticipate growth driven by product launches, traffic surges, and global expansion, ensuring infrastructure capacity scales ahead of demand.
- Define and monitor SLAs for uptime, latency, and resiliency, and iterate with engineering to consistently meet or exceed these targets.
- Provide Coinbase teams with reliable, secure, and compliant infrastructure services that accelerate product delivery.
Requirements
- Ability to translate infrastructure challenges into clear product strategies and measurable outcomes.
- Track record of scaling globally distributed systems and core services to handle large, dynamic workloads with high reliability.
- Skilled collaborator with engineering, SRE, and security partners.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure technologies such as Kubernetes, service mesh, distributed storage, networking, and observability platforms.
- Comfortable balancing cost, performance, scalability, and compliance requirements in regulated industries.
