About the role
- Data Scientist creating and maintaining proprietary ML/DL models for adaptive learning at Cogna. Engaging in projects related to education technology and data science.
Responsibilities
- You will work within the AI Products area, with the purpose of building and maintaining proprietary ML/DL models (and embedding them into products and processes) for adaptive learning, including personalized learning-path models, academic performance reports, and recommendation models for educational materials.
- You will also be responsible for:
- Building and maintaining engagement and dropout propensity (churn) models.
- Performing exploratory data analysis and classical statistical modeling for partner teams.
- Evaluating model drift in production.
- As you will be part of a Product area within the business (Student Experience and Success), you must be able to translate business problems into technical solutions and, conversely, explain technical concepts to business users in an accessible way. You should also know how precise the solution needs to be, always keeping the benefit in mind rather than focusing solely on technical details.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Physics
- Experience with Python, SQL, Machine Learning, Statistics, and Data Visualization
- Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Experience with data science projects and model productization (deploying models to production)
- Experience or research in cognitive and pedagogical areas is a plus
